To appoint someone suitable for an assignment regular or one time is a tough task for any company or an individual. One has to check many factors in candidates before hiring them. Recruitment tests are in many steps at different level. As a first step of the standard recruitment process in the industry, the candidates are screened from the initial lot to see if overall parameters are matching in a broad sense. Those screened and selected candidates are interviewed remotely on phone or thru tools like Skype etc to know more about them. They are then called for first round of interview. Normally for technical posts, people are asked to appear for an objective type tests to check aptitude and their overall concept about the subject or concept. This enables the recruiters to eradicate the irrelevant candidates from the list for the second round. In the second round candidate have to appear in front of different officials at different levels to test their all aspects that the organization is interested to know about. It could be Head HR wanting to know the emotional quotient of the candidate and IT Head wanting to test the intelligence quotient. Group discussions reveal their leadership quality and their independent thinking strength. At some level the candidates are tested by their negotiation skills to finalize the salary or perks they want for themselves and finally the candidate is recruited. Recruitment process is quite complex as well as interesting also. At times a very highly scoring candidate gets ignored or is left out because the job requires less qualified person due to the specific need in a particular situation. So the recruitment tests are designed to locate and recruit only those candidates they need for the job. Rejecting the candidates need not be translated being worthless people but should be treated simply as not suitable for the job requirements.
